A new week-long campaign to raise awareness of New York’s Move Over Law, which requires motorists to drive with care, slow down, and safely move over when approaching law enforcement vehicles, firetrucks, ambulances, tow trucks, construction and maintenance vehicles that are stopped along roads across the state.


NYS Assembly Public Hearing:


SUBJECT: The Clean Energy Standard Established by the Public Service Commission.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the hearing is to examine specifics of the Clean Energy Standard.    May 1, 2017 10:00 AM Hearing Room B  Legislative Office Building, 2nd Floor  Albany, NY 12248


On August 1, 2016, the New York State Public Service Commission approved the Clean Energy Standard (CES) (Case 15-E-0302), which established the goal of obtaining 50% of the state’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030.  A component of the CES is the twelve-year “Zero Emissions Credit” (ZEC) requirement.

This hearing is an opportunity for the Assembly Committees on Corporations, Authorities, and Commissions; Consumer Affairs and Protection; Energy; and Environmental Conservation to explore the particulars of the order, the steps taken by the Commission that led up to its decision, and the specific terms of the ZEC requirement. The Committees will hear from the Public Service Commission and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and discuss ways to ensure transparency and public involvement are provided for in a decision-making process of this scale and impact.   More here….

State Agriculture Commissioner Announces 2017 Dairy Promotion Order Advisory Board Members

Advisory Board Members Serve Three-Year Term, Three of the Ten Members Appointed Serve on the Board for the First Time

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today announced the members of the 2017 New York State Dairy Promotion Order Advisory Board.  The Advisory Board, which administers the Dairy Promotion Order and evaluates dairy marketing promotion programs, consists of ten New York milk producers appointed by the Commissioner. Each member serves a three-year term starting May 1, 2017.  Three of the ten members will serve on the Advisory Board for the first time.  More here…
